What are the entry requirements?
You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at interview. You must be able to provide evidence of skills and knowledge from a real work environment. After applying you will have an interview to determine if you can cover the range of work required for the NVQ qualification and are eligible for T2G funding.

  • Minimum Literacy Level: Entry 2

  • You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.
  • Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 2

  • You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles.

What will I study?
There is no formal study but you will be required to complete a NVQ portfolio.

How will I be taught?
If you have any knowledge gaps identified during your initial interview you may have to attend some study session with your assessor either at the College or on-site.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through on-site observation of practical skills or knowledge through written and oral questioning.

What support is available while I am on the course?
You will have access to an assessor to help you throughout the course and the College offers a comprehensive range of student services including learning support, language support and guidance.

Age under 19 on 31st August of the year you start your course? Study forFREE.
