The aim of the unit is to enable you to gain knowledge of what dementia is, the different forms of dementia and how others can have an impact on the individual with dementia.
What modules are covered?Dementia Awareness - two credits.
What qualifications will I get?Dementia Awareness - CPD Certificate
How will I be assessed?You will be required to take an assessment to achieve the City and Guilds Certificate.
The qualification is assessed through written assignments only. You must complete the assignments to a satisfactory level to gain this unit.
What are the entry requirements?Minimum qualifications: Entry Level
Whilst there are no formal prerequisites for entry to the qualification, you will require some study and general communication skills in order to complete the assessment requirements.
What else do I need to know?You will receive a Certificate of Attendance for this course.
Alternatively, you can upgrade your course for an additional fee of £40 and receive an accredited City and Guilds Unit Certificate. You will be required to take an assessment in order to achieve the City and Guilds Certificate.
This training can also be offered at the Rugby centre.
What can I do after this course?The achievement can also be mapped and used as a stepping stone to the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care if you are employed in the sector.
