About this course

Develop a broad understanding of the principles of dental administration & reception
Learn techniques and good practice for dental administration Understand the anatomy & physiology of the head and mouth Develop knowledge and skills in good hygiene practice
Learn how to keep and store patient records and maintain confidentiality

Suitable for those in full or part time learning or employment, it builds the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth up to 19 years. On completion learners will be able to work under guidance, in a wide range of job roles

Students looking to enrol onto this course should meet the following criteria:
Be aged 16 Years or above
Possess a solid knowledge of the English language
Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course
Basic computer skills: e.g. Word processing, emailing, uploading documents etc.
Have a genuine desire to succeed

This course provides successful students with a fully recognised qualification from TQUK, listed on the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework). TQUK is recognised as an awarding organisation by the qualification regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, who are: the office of the qualifications and examinations regulator (OFQUAL) in England, the Welsh Government and the council for curriculum, examinations and assessment (CCA) in Northern Ireland.

  • Unit 8: Introduction to communication in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings

  • Unit 10: Introduction to equality and inclusion in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
  • Unit 11: Maintain and support relationships with children and young people

Assessment

Learners will be required to complete a series of tutor marked assignments ( normally 1 after each unit) as they progress through this course. Each assignment will contain a variety of tasks/questions. These assignments are assessed by your tutor to monitor progress. You will be provided with constructive feedback to help you in completing each unit to the required standard.

Additional information

Students have a maximum of 12 months to complete. Course duration approx. 90 hours.
