Course programme

Engage your students in a variety of learning applications; develop the ability to plan sequences of Design and Technology. Students will develop knowledge and understanding of CAD (ProDesktop\2D Design) whilst learning presentation skills. These newly acquired skills aim to raise attainment and see your students’ confidence grow.

Pro/Desktop is a feature-based solid modeller software with kinematic motion and high-quality photo-realistic rendering. The software is in use in over 75% of UK secondary schools for computer-aided design and drawing. It allows students to visualise 3D objects on screen from any viewpoint aiding their visual and perceptual development. Students can also assemble and explore different arrangements of 3D parts and gain experiences in:

• Experimenting with the colour, texture and presentation views of objects

• Producing orthographic drawings and sections of the 3D model

• Trying out movements of mechanical assemblies

• Exporting their designs for manufacture in 2D or 3D ...
