Our extended degree in design, innovation and entrepreneurship will develop your design and engineering skills so you can create new products. You should get an understanding of core engineering disciplines plus specialist knowledge in product and computer-aided design.

As the course includes an extra year to prepare you for degree-level learning, we ask for lower entry points than for our standard BEng.

You should graduate from this course as an engineer and inventor able to set up your own engineering business. As an entrepreneur, you'll have the business skills to turn your ideas into reality.

Typical Offer: 64 Points
Qualifications: three A-levels/Extended Diploma/combination of A-level and Diploma/A-levels and Extended Certificate
Subjects:

A-level: 16 Points from Mathematics, a physical science or a numerate subject. General Studies/Level 3 Key Skills not accepted
BTEC National: Extended Diploma in Engineering (required: Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems (Unit 7) and Further Engineering Mathematics (Unit 8), both at Pass) or related subject.
A-level and BTEC National: Diploma/Extended Certificate in Engineering and 16 Points from A-level Mathematics if Units 7 and/or 8 are not included
A-level and BTEC National: Diploma/Extended Certificate in Applied Science and 16 Points from A-level Mathematics
Plus GCSEs in English language and mathematics at grade 4 or above (grade C or above under the A*-G system), and one GCSE science subject at Grade C or above under the A*-G system. We also accept equivalent qualifications at Level 2, such as Functional Skills in Mathematics and English.

We will also consider:

AS-levels along with A2-levels
Alternative qualifications at Level 3, such as OCR Cambridge Technicals, AQA Tech-level, the International Baccalaureate and Access to Engineering
Appropriate qualifications such as an HNC, HND or Foundation Degree, with which you may be able to enter this degree in Year 2.
