Designer Glass - Siobhan Jones

History

Siobhan set up her studio following her graduation in 1996. She has exhibited though galleries and takes part in regular shows nationwide.
Commissions have included libraries, hospitals and private homes, ranging from wall panels to garden sculpture. Siobhan's work continues to excel through years of experience, knowing her material and the ability learn, adapting and creating new applications for her art form.

Siobhan is enthusiastic and will certainly provide you with a fun filled day, guiding you through the possibilities fused glass has to offer while filling you with inspiration! :o)

Conveniently located at Viables Craft Centre on the southern edge of Basingstoke, only minutes from Junction 6 of the M3 and clearly signposted off the A30. Situated in an attractive Victorian farm setting with ample free parking, Viables Craft Centre houses an exhibition venue, The courtyard Tearoom and a selection of resident craft designer/makers.

Description

This workshop offers a wonderful introduction to the art of kiln formed glass, using solely Bull-seye transparent, opal and iridescent glass. You will gain an understanding of the materials, techniques and processes involved while pro-ducing your own masterpiece! Using sheet glass, frits, stringers and wire, you will be shown how to cut glass, add inclusions and create voids & bubbles.
No prior glass experience is necessary, just
enthusiasm!
