Designing, Planning, and Managing a Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Infrastructure

Target Audience
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to deploy and manage a Windows SharePoint Services and a SharePoint Portal Server 2003 infrastructure. The audience operates in medium to very large computing environments that use the Windows 2003 Server operating system.

Pre-Requisites
Before attending this course, students must have the following pre-requisites:Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.Successful completion of the Windows Server 2003 core curriculum for MCSAs.Working knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP and Domain Name System (DNS).Working knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS).

Purpose
After completing the course, students will be able to explain the Windows SharePoint Services architecture and the business benefits provided by deploying Windows SharePoint Services; install and configure a Windows SharePoint Services server; administer a Windows SharePoint Services server; administer a Windows SharePoint Services site; explain the function and goals of Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003; deploy SharePoint Portal Server in a small server farm; configure server components and create and configure portal sites and virtual servers; design the information structure for SharePoint Portal Server; manage SharePoint Portal sites; manage and monitor SharePoint Portal Server; plan and implement disaster recovery for SharePoint Portal Server.
