Designing, Planning, and Managing a Windows SharePoint Services Infrastructure

Target Audience
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to deploy and manage a Windows SharePoint Services infrastructure. The audience operates in medium to very large computing environments that use the Windows 2003 Server operating system.

Pre-Requisites
Before attending this course, students must have the following pre-requisites:Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.Successful completion of the Windows Server 2003 core curriculum for MCSAs.Working knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP and Domain Name System (DNS).Working knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS).

Purpose
After completing the course, students will be able to discuss the Windows SharePoint Services architecture and the business benefits provided by deploying Windows SharePoint Services; install and configure a Windows SharePoint Services server; administer a Windows SharePoint Services server; administer a Windows SharePoint Services site; enhance collaboration by using Windows SharePoint Services.

• Explain the purpose, benefits and architecture of Windows SharePoint Services and what other services can coexist with Windows SharePoint Services.
  
• Provide a high-level overview of the components that make up a Windows SharePoint Services infrastructure.
  
• Provide a high-level overview of the various methods of administering Windows SharePoint Services and describe the security model of Windows SharePoint Services.
  

Module 2:Installing and Configuring Windows SharePoint Services
