About this course

This course would suit both someone who is relatively new to painting with acrylics and painters looking to expand their knowledge.

Some experience of acrylic painting will be beneficial but is not a requirement of the course. You should also be dexterous (able to hold and use equipment)

Course programme

How will I learn?

Through demonstration and one-to-one tutoring you will undertake exercises and create a finished portfolio of artwork

How will my progress be monitored and assessed?

Your portfolio of work will be shown to your tutor who will advise you on progress and provide verbal and written feedback.

Progression opportunities

You can progress onto a range of arts courses in a choice of subjects. Your tutor will be able to advise

What equipment or materials will I need to provide?

You will need to bring the following to your first session:
Palette and palette knife
Water pot
Round and flat headed brushes, medium sized
Acrylic or watercolour paper
Tubes of acrylic paint

You will be given a list of further materials to buy for your course during the first session and advice and guidance regarding painting materials. Costs for materials for the duration of the course will be approximately £50

What other support is available?

Help with numeracy or literacy is available. ICT drop-in sessions are available during term time and are open to all learners. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Learner Support Funding is available for equipment, childcare and travel to learners who qualify.
