This course aims to develop your ability to draw what you see. You will explore using a range of drawing materials including charcoal, graphite sticks, pastels, watercolour pencils and pen and ink. You will experiment with a variety of drawing skills that will result in a portfolio of your work accompanied by written reflective commentary. You will use the formal elements of line, shape, form, tone, texture, pattern, colour and composition

About this course
This course would suit both someone who is relatively new to drawing and those looking to expand their knowledge.
Some experience of drawing will be beneficial but is not a requirement of the course. You should also be dexterous (able to hold and use equipment)

How will I learn?
Through practical lessons, demonstrations and one-to-one tuition you will create a portfolio of drawings.
How will my progress be monitored and assessed?
Your portfolio of work will be shown to your tutor who will advise you on progress and provide verbal and written feedback.
Progression opportunities
You can progress onto a range of arts courses in a choice of subjects. Your tutor will be able to advise.
What equipment or materials will I need to provide?
You should bring the following to the first session:
A pad of A4 drawing paper,
Graphite stick and eraser.
Your tutor will give you a list of materials to buy for the rest of the course. Cost of materials for the duration of the course will be approximately £35
