Developing the Leaders of the Future The management of people really means the ability to create successful working teams at all levels of the organisation. Apart from operational tasks such as work allocation, this also means the ability to motivate, to develop the skills of your team and to encourage their involvement.

Good leadership is crucial to this area of management. The 2-day programme provides managers with the opportunity to gain insight into current leadership models while developing the desired leadership behaviours.

Aim:
To identify and develop key behaviours associated with middle and senior management leadership

Objectives:
· To explore different models of leadership: Transformational/Visionary/Inspirational leadership
· To examine 'Emotional Intelligence' and its links with leadership
· To develop your Emotional Intelligence and adopt the desired language and behaviours to achieve people and business success
· To investigate models of change management.
· To identify the language and behaviours associated with leadership
· To assess and review personal performance as a leader and develop action plans for improvement

Target Participants & Outline
The programme is targeted at Middle and Senior Management and those leading major change initiatives.
The programme consists of 4 sessions over 2 days employing a range of diagnostic and self-assessment tools, discussion forums, case studies, role-play and post-course activities.

Session 1
A range of assessment tools and activities will be used to identify leadership characteristics and behaviours based on the latest research. The assessment tools will also examine 'Emotional Intelligence'.

An overview of research on leadership will be provided (with in-depth support materials being provided); in particular 'Transformational', 'Visionary' and 'Inspirational' models will be examined.

Session 2
Individual feedback will be provided from assessment tools followed by group exploration of leadership.
'Emotional Intelligence' and its link to leadership will be examined and a number of activities used to identify each delegate's current levels of Emotional Intelligence.

Session 3
This session will focus on Change Management Models (including an overview of 'Managing Successful Programmes' from Office of Government Commerce). Participants will then work on activities to develop a 'Vision' and explore techniques to influence others towards its achievement.

Session 4
The final session will provide the opportunity to practice the key skills of Rapport Building, Questioning and Listening applying best practice taken from the fields of NLP and Emotional Intelligence .

Individual Action Plans will be initiated.
Post Course materials and activities will be provided.

Cost:
£450 (ex VAT) - includes all course materials, refreshments and a 2 course lunch each day.

This course is also accredited with a Professional Development Award (PDA) by the Institute of Leadership & Management
