Unit 2 - Identification of People with Diabetes

Unit 3 - Detection and Management of Diabetes

The following topics are included: Detecting foot problems; High blood pressure; Blood glucose control; Eye testing; Medication for diabetes; Insulin; and Care plan.

Unit 4 - Complications of Diabetes

The following topics are included: Atherosclerosis; Heart disease; Strokes; Diabetic kidney disease (nephropathy); Diabetic eye problems; Diabetic retinopathy; Cataracts; Glaucoma; Diabetic neuropathy; Susceptibility to infection such as urinary tract infections (UTIs); Skin and mouth conditions; Osteoporosis; Hearing problems; Impotence and erectile problems; High cholesterol; Gastroparesis; Ketones; Ketoacidosis; Hyperglycaemia; and Hypoglycaemia.
