About this course
It is recommended that candidates have achieved a minimum of two GCSE's at grades C - D or above in Maths, Science or English based subjects or an equivalent qualification or suitable industrial experience. Candidates will require an interview and complete a skills assessment. Candidates must be in current employment in a relevant, Electrical and Electronic Servicing environment.

One day per week is the minimum requirement to support the Technical Certificate although additional days can be included depending on the training needs of the business or individual. A full time off the job provision is also available if required.

Introduction to Digital Broadcasting and Signalling and Set Top Boxes, Site Survey and Assessment, Aerial mountings and Cable Fixings, Aerials and Associated Feeders, Noise and Interference, Provide and Maintain Customer Care, Health and Safety- Working Safely at Heights.
Assessment
Candidates will be assessed through the use of examinations, practical and theory assignments. Assessment within the workplace will be required to complete the NVQ 2, producing a portfolio of evidence demonstrating competent applications within this industry.

- Technical Certificate - An appropriate Level 2 award such as the Progression Award in Electrical and Electronic Servicing Consumer / Commercial Electronics or C&G 2218 Digital Television and Aerial Installation
- Key Skills - Application of Number Level 2, Communication Level 2 and Information Technology Level 1
- NVQ Level 2 Qualification - City and Guilds Level 2 NVQ in Electrical and Electronic Servicing Signal Reception
