Combining a series of practical demonstrations, lectures and filming workshops with group instruction, this course has been designed to provide you with a solid foundation to build on your technical and film production skills.

Course programme
You will be introduced to the basics of video camera technology, where you will understand how video cameras work, appreciate the creative features available and become familiar with camera operations through practice. You will gain a sound understanding of lenses, exposure and mixed lighting scenarios, including sound recording, shooting techniques and the use of specialist accessories such as camera tripods and track dolls. You will also be introduced to the advanced features of the latest HD DSLR as an alternative to video film camera.
Through a series of filming workshops, you will be introduced to film ‘storyboarding’ and given shooting scenarios in which to practice your filming techniques. You shall also be given demonstrations in film editing and the opportunity to practice as the course progresses.
