Course description

Seminars
The seminar is the main forum for review of the
theoretical concepts that underpin the group analytic approach. Students are also invited to present papers that reflect a variety of different approaches to work with and within the group setting. In addition, students participate in conducting the student group whilst observed by the tutor. This enables 'live' feedback about both process and practice.

Supervision
Students are required to present their group work on a regular basis to their supervision group. In this consultative setting, students will be encouraged to consider their own practice and its place within theory.

Experiential Group
As with the other two settings, the experiential group is a weekly forum attended by all the students. Its aim is to give students the opportunity to be immediately aware of group process, the individual and the individual's contribution to group outcome.

Selection criteria and application
Students are selected on the basis of a written application, interview and references.
