This course is ideal for learners who have an interest in brickwork and who are willing to build knowledge and skills through extensive high quality training.
You will cover a range of bricklaying techniques at a foundation level. You will develop the expertise to work independently and establish a firm grasp of the industry. It covers the following skills:
Health and safety
Principles of construction
Carrying out blocklaying activities
Carrying out bricklaying activities
Carrying out cavity walling activities
Contribute to setting out and building of masonry structures up to damp proof course
Appropriate supporting qualifications to broaden your skill set and meet the needs of the community

About this course
Level 2 Diploma Brickwork, an Apprenticeship or other employment.
Subject to interview based on GCSEs, equivalent qualifications and own merit. All learners will need to undertake an industry assessment to help determine the most appropriate course.
You need to have a desire to work in the construction industry. Full commitment to attendance is required. Respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject and self-motivation are the essential qualities we expect to see in all our learners.

Course programme
You will be continually assessed and there is an expectation that you will continue your studies and coursework during your own time.
The course is delivered by both practical sessions with excellent workshop facilities and theory lessons to underpin the knowledge learnt in the practical sessions. You will be assessed via practical assignments, written assignments and multiple choice unit end tests.
Elements of this course can be delivered through the medium of Welsh.
