Diploma in Business Information Systems

Introduction

The programme introduces students to the use and influence of technology with modern business and goes further to explore topics such as systems, programming and networks. Holders of this qualification will have a firm grounding in key IT and Business skills that enable them to build bridges between technology and business management.

The Diploma allows students to broaden their knowledge and start to specialise. It is an ideal level if students are already working in the IT sector and are seeking progression.

Entry Requirements

You will normally need to have at least one of the following:
• Any ABE Certificate
• Two GCE A Levles together with four GCSEs at Grade C or above or a recognised equivalent.
and English Competency
• IELTS 5.0 or a recognised equivalent

Assessment/ Examination

The method of assessment for all modules is by written examination of three hours duration each. Exemptions may be granted to holders of qualifications of certain other professional bodies, provided that such qualifications have been obtained by external examination.

Level of Qualification

This is an undergraduate level qualification, classed as a level 5 qualification under the UK National Qualifications Framework.

Progression

This qualification allows students to progress to the Advanced Diploma in Business Information Systems, to university or into employment. ABE has articulation arrangements with many universities for direct entry into the second year of an honours degree following successful completion of the Diploma.

Awarding Body and Certification
ABE– On successful completion of the course, the final certificate will be awarded by The Association of Business Executives (ABE).
ABE is accredited by the UK Government’s education regulator and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). Their qualifications are becoming increasing recognised by UK Universities and employers.
