The Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development Level 2 provides learners with an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills that will help them to work effectively with children. This qualification will allow you to work under the supervision of others in most childcare settings. Apprenticeship: You must be employed in the Childcare sector and work for 16 hours a week or more. Further Education: You must be volunteering or working in the Child Care Sector for 12 hours a week or more. All places are subject to satisfactory interview. You will be expected to complete workbooks of knowledge evidence. These will be completed independently, which will require you to research relevant topics. Monthly evening sessions will be provided at college in order to help you understand the requirement of each unit and to share ideas and experiences with other learners. At Level 2, you will be expected to complete knowledge evidence workbooks, so that you can build a portfolio of evidence in subject areas relevant to childcare. Monthly evening sessions at the college will help you to do this. Your skills will be observed and assessed at your workplace following planning sessions with your individually appointed assessor. Apprentices will attend college sessions in order to complete Essential Skills Qualification tasks in Communication, Application of Number and Digital Literacy. This is an essential part of the qualification. Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (provided that the work role is relevant).

Course programme
