The Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development expands on the knowledge and skills acquired at Level 2, allowing you to become a room supervisor or playgroup leader, amongst other roles. Apprenticeship: You must be employed in the Childcare sector for 16 hours a week or more. All places are subject to satisfactory interview. You will be expected to complete workbooks of knowledge evidence. These will be completed independently, which will require you to research relevant topics. Monthly evening sessions will be provided at college in order to help you understand the requirement of each unit and share ideas and experiences with other learners. At Level 3, you will be expected to complete knowledge evidence workbooks so that you build a portfolio of evidence in subject areas relevant to childcare. Monthly evening sessions at the college will help you to do this. Your skills will be observed and assessed at your workplace following planning sessions with your individually appointed assessor. Apprentices will attend college sessions in order to complete Essential Skills Qualification tasks in Communication, Application of Number and Digital Literacy. This is an essential part of the qualification. Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Level 5 (if work role is relevant).

Course programme
