DIPLOMA IN DIGITAL APPLICATIONS (DiDA) Levels 1 and 2 A One Year Full-Time Programme Of Study
You will need to have 2 GCSEs at grade E or above and a good Record of Achievement for Level 1. For Level 2 you will need 3 GCSEs at grade D and above, of which one should be English language or mathematics. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.

What Will I Study? There are 4 units to pass to gain the Diploma at Level 1 or Level 2:
Unit 1 - Using ICT
- Using information sources
- Working with information
- Presenting information
- Print and Digital publishing
Unit 2 - Multimedia
- Investigating multimedia products
- Designing and developing multimedia products
- Prototyping and testing
Unit 3 - Graphics
- Selecting material
- Developing graphic images
- Using bit-map and vector-based tools
- Preparing images for screen and print
Unit 4 - ICT in Enterprise
- Exploring business opportunities
- Preparing and presenting business plans
- Business communications
- Advertising and promotions
In addition all students will study Key Skills at an appropriate level.

How Will I Be Assessed? Your work will be produced, stored and accessed electronically. Each unit is assessed by a project. There are no exams. Your tutor will offer continuous support and guidance to help you build your personalised e-portfolio.

What Will I Gain At The End Of The Course? Successful students will be awarded the Diploma in Digital Applications for IT Users at the appropriate level. On completion of L1, students would have the option of progressing onto DiDA L2, BTEC 1st Diploma IT Practitioners with Web Design or the BTEC 1st Diploma in IT Systems Support and Hardware.
Level 2 students would have the opportunity of progressing onto the BTEC National Certificate in e-IT or the BTEC National Diploma in e-IT. Students would normally progress with a recommendation from the course tutor.
