About this course

No formal qualifications are needed however, GCSE C or above in Maths and English can exempt you from doing Functional Skills in Maths and English, or a relevant Level 1 qualification. You will also need to have an interest in floor covering.

What will I study on the course?

The course will cover the following units of work:

- Health safety and welfare in construction

- Understanding information

- Quantities and communication with others

- Understanding construction technology

- Preparing sub floors

- Levelling compounds

- Preparing sub-floors measuring and planning

- Setting out

- Customer relations

You may also be required to attend functional skills in Maths and English depending on previous qualifications.

Additional information

The course runs for one year. You will attend college for three days per week over one year. The main enrolment period for this course is in September but there will also be the opportunity to start the course at other times if places are available.
