Overview
This introductory course will help you learn skills for the hairdressing industry, by helping you to present a professional image in a salon environment. Our team will support you as you learn the art of shampooing and conditioning hair, learn the differences in styling men and women’s hair and start to create an image using temporary colours and dressing techniques. With health and safety and salon reception duties also part of the course, you’ll be ready to progress onto higher level training in the hairdressing profession.

Entry Requirements
You must have an interest in the hair and beauty sector and demonstrate an ability to communicate and follow the professional standards set by the awarding bodies. You must be prepared to study the complete study programme; this includes maths and English and employability, enrichments and tutorials.

Course Duration
One year – Full time.

Skills and Benefits
This qualification has been designed to introduce you to a range of practical skills from across the hair and beauty industries. It aims to prepare you for employment as a supervised assistant/apprentice or for further learning in the hairdressing and beauty therapy industries within college.

Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing, Level 2 Diploma in Barbering, Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-Up, Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Techniques and Level 2 Certificate in Nail Treatments.
