Level 1 is ideal for those looking to develop basic skills and knowledge in PC maintenance to get started in the IT industry. You'll gain a general grounding in basic hardware maintenance and software installation, as well as troubleshooting skills.
You will combine technical skills for PC maintenance with the software skills to develop a more rounded approach to systems support. This course will prepare you for employment in the IT industry or progression to the Level 2 programme.
What is expected from a learner studying this course?
You will develop an understanding of the fundamentals of computing systems and customer care. Units will cover aspects of the dismantling, assembling, installation and maintenance of a computing system. You will also gain an understanding of the role of security in maintaining a computing system.
You will also study for an IT User qualification to enhance your support skills within an ICT function. The IT User qualification will enable you to use a variety of software applications and systems, such as Word, Excel, internet and databases.
