Registration for the Postgraduate Diploma in Life Planning is available to those who have successfully completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Life Planning.

Life planning includes the preparation people can make to manage mid and later life. The study of life planning draws on a variety of perspectives including adult education, psychology and sociology.
Course Content
The structure of the course is made up of four modules.
Module 1 - Research Methods is a core module on effective research methods. This module is studied face-to-face.
Modules 2, 3 and 4 can be selected from:
- The Practice of Facilitation. Enables students to build their facilitationskills and apply them to life planning. Thismodule is studied face-to-face.
- Financial Education.Details the economic processes that impact on the individual from the state,business and society, in relation to life planning. This module is studied by distance learning.
- Health Promotion and Older People. Reviews the context of health promotionto life planning by individuals andorganisations. This module is studied face-to-face.
- Organisational Change and Age Diversity Policy and Practice. Highly relevant and engages the student ina review of age appropriate work practicewithin organisations. This module is studied by distance learning.
- Citizenship in the Life Course. Explores the role of citizenship in the 21st century within a life planning context. This module is studied by distance learning.
- The Practice of Facilitation for Master Practitioners. Builds and enhances the growing facilitation skills by the use of master classes to specifically focus advanced skills development. This module is studied face-to-face, including two master classes.
The course is assessed through written assignments as well as observed practice for The Practice of Facilitation and The Practice of Facilitation for Master Practitioners modules.
Progression
After successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma in Life Planning, students can progress to the MSc Dissertation.
