Who is this for?
This course is for anyone with an interest in bookkeeping. No previous knowledge is required as full tuition is given.

What Will I Learn?
You will learn to understand the principles on which bookkeeping is based, develop your skill in carrying our routine bookkeeping activities and develop your understanding of the importance of accuracy and skill in using and verifying financial information.
You will learn Manual processing in the folloing modules
Unit 1 - posting to accounts
Unit 2 - petty cash
Unit 3 - cash book
Unit 4 and 5 use Sage softwar and computerised account processing purchasing/sales, invoices and credit notes.
You will also learn how to produce computerised reports.
4 Encourage progression by assisting in the development of the skills and
knowledge which will need to undertake further study.

Content of the Course
Do you want to learn how to operate a petty cash system, understand how a cashbook works, how to maintain daybooks and post to accounts? This course will enable you to use these basic, practical bookkeeping skills for manual accounts which many small businesses and employers require. No previous accounts experience is required. You will then learn how to transfer accounts into computerised form using Sage Line 50 software. You can achieve the OCR Level 1 Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping.

Some homework will be set and it is useful to practice your skills.

Assessment Details
Exams take place in the classroom throughout the course.
