About this course

No formal qualifications are required however; you will have an interview and initial assessment. Following a successful interview and initial assessment results, you will be allocated a place to study the practical and theoretical elements of plastering. Parents and carers are welcome to attend the interview but not the initial assessment

City and Guilds Diploma in Plastering Level 2 and Functional Skills in maths and English at the relevant level.

Course programme

What will I study on the course?

You will study safe working practices in construction, building methods and construction technology, how to apply plaster materials to external and internal surfaces, fix dry lining and plasterboard products to interiors, form sand and cement screeds and produce and fix plaster components. Ideal if you would like to further develop both the skills and knowledge to become a plasterer. Employability Level 1, Health and Safety at the required level defendant on previous qualifications and experience. You may also be required to attend lessons for functional skills depending on previous qualifications

Additional information

You will attend college two and a half days per week for one year. The main enrolment period for this course is in September but there will also be the opportunity to start the course at other times if places are available. You will also be required to do 30 hours work experience.
