Aims To enable delegates to carry out suitable and sufficient DSE assessments. Objectives. Explain the standards which relate to the use and siting of display screen equipment. Undertake a successful display screen assessment based on the required format. Advise staff on the methods available to reduce the likelihood of health related problems associated with the use of display screen equipment. Suitable for: Persons nominated as display screen equipment risk assessors, managers responsible for implementing health and safety policies and health and safety co-ordinators.

Overview

The Display Screen Equipment Regulations 1992 require an employer to assess display screen equipment work stations to identify health and safety hazards which may pose a risk to staff. This course is designed to give participants a practical overview of the Display Screen Equipment Regulations. It also looks at the safe use of the Display Screen Equipment (DSE) as well as providing the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct “suitable and sufficient” risk assessments for DSE users.
