Course Content:
By the end of the course the participant will be able to display an understanding of:

  • Overview of relevant regulations
  • Requirements of DSE Regulations
  • Workstations:
    • What constitutes a workstation
    • Operator interface
    • User definition
  • Hazards and potential health effects related to DSE work:
    • WRULD
    • Eyesight
    • Stress,etc.
  • Ergonomics of the workstation including:
    • Setting up work stations
    • Adjustments
    • Posture and seating
    • Keyboards and screen
    • Housekeeping and checks of posture
  • Recording, monitoring and implementing controls
  • Assessment techniques
  • User training requirements
  • Structuring and delivering the training
  • Practical assessments
  • Written test

The training involves candidate participation with the emphasis on the practical element of the training. On day two the candidate will carry out a practical training session on which they will be assessed.
