Direct admission to the Master of Criminology is reserved to holders of a Bachelor degree in Criminology as such. Holders of other academic bachelor degrees could be admitted to the Master of Criminology provided that they also apply for admission to this Preparatory programme. Important to note, there is not direct admission to it, but admission requirements to comply with (see ‘admission requirements’).

Students willing to start the preparatory programme are expected to:

  • be interested in cross-border and harmful behaviour and how to deal with it
  • be able to reflect on personal, relational and social problems
  • have a scientific and positive attitude
  • have outstanding communication skills
  • be able to deal independently with a large quantity of knowledge and assignments
  • be able to deal with ICT-applications
  • be sufficiently proficient in English
