"The dog catcher operator is the municipal employee in the capture of stray dogs. According to the regulations in force, single or consortium municipalities establish and maintain a public service for the capture of stray dogs, for health observation in the first reception kennel (usually for 10 days), and for custody in a shelter. Furthermore, there is an obligation to rescue pets injured in road accidents (including cats), and to collect the remains of pets abandoned in the municipal area. By stray we mean the condition in which a pet wanders without a master, alone or in a pack.
