What qualifications do I need?

To enrol on this Apprenticeship you need to be aged 16 and over, ideally have a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C and be employed as a plumber. You must have completed a Level 2 in Plumbing or have the relevant experience.

What’s involved?

During this Apprenticeship you will install complex cold water, hot water, sanitation and heating systems as well as fuel burning appliances such as gas, oil or solid fuel boilers. You will have the opportunity to choose a pathway e.g. domestic plumbing or industrial plumbing.

You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do every day, while receiving support from experienced South Worcestershire College tutors.

How will I be studying?

For the Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing and Heating you will attend lectures at the Evesham Campus one day each week for two years, while the remainder of the week is spent in the workplace.

Where can I move on to after this course?

With a Level 3 Certificate you are qualified to an advanced level and could work as a plumbing technician or be involved in designing environmentally friendly systems e.g. water management, grey water systems and rain water catchment.
