The only programme of its kind in Scotland, this programme offers students the theoretical and practical skills necessary to practice safely as a Counselling Psychologist.

Counselling Psychology is a rapidly growing area of applied psychology. Chartered Counselling Psychologists work therapeutically with a variety of problems, including the effects of childhood sexual abuse, relationship breakdown, domestic violence, major trauma, and symptoms of psychological disorder.

The programme offers clinical training in both humanistic (person-centred) and cognitive-behavioural approaches to psychological practice and situates these within a range of clinical contexts.
