Overview

Our most popular course for Drama take place in Northern Spain and in particular the stunning resort of Tossa de Mar situated on the Costa Brava coastline.

This format of courses is also available in Greece, Italy, S. Africa, USA and the UK.

The Drama and Photography students in Spain will have the opportunity to visit Barcelona and possibly Figueras and Gerona.

Tossa de Mar is a beautiful, safe typically Spanish fishing village with a stunning bay, beach and old town quarter which dates back to the 12th Century. Our base will be the 3* Park/Novopark Hotel with all its modern facilities and ideal rehearsal areas. We will also have available the indoor theatre in nearby Lloret de Mar, although most of our groups do tend to prefer working on self-devised, outdoor, promenade style performance pieces for presentation in the old town of Tossa.

There will also be a full programme of evening activities - Karaoke, Cabaret, Flamenco and a wonderful last night party celebration. Your group will have the opportunity to explore Barcelona on a full excursion day and also have the option of a visit to Figueras and the stunning Salvador Dali Museum. All in all this will be a fabulous, challenging, stimulating and rewarding course.

Tossa de Mar

Tossa is situated on the coast of the Spanish Costa Brava approximately a 1 hour drive along the coast from Barcelona. We use the Park, Novopark, Continental and Don Juan (illustrated) hotels in Tossa. These hotels provide very good two/three star accommodation. Rooms for the students are 3 or 4 bedded and we provide twin rooms for the staff. All have private facilities. Most of our hotels have outdoor swimming pools and other sporting activities are available.

Tossa de Mar, in stark contrast to it's better known and altogether noisier neighbour, Lloret de Mar is a more typical small Spanish fishing port with a stunning bay and beach ideal for swimming; and is certainly less commercialised than Lloret. Exclusive to Dramart, we have an option to use the marvellous facilities of the Municipal Theatre in Lloret for some workshops and performances. Other workshops and some evening entertainments would take place in your hotel. We can offer a full day excursion to Barcelona on these courses and a half day trip to Figueras and the Salvador Dali Museum. Evening activities on this course can include a cabaret evening, karaoke evening, flamenco evening and disco/party evening.

Day 2

• 0830 - Breakfast in hotel
• 0930 - 1200 - Workshop 1
• 1300 - Lunch
• 1430 - 1700 - Workshop 2
• 1930 - Dinner
• 2030 - Karaoke evening.

Day 3

• 0830 - Breakfast.
• 0930 - Coach from hotel for day excursion to Barcelona;Packed lunches to be collected from hotel before departure.
• 1830 - Return to hotel.
• 1930 - Dinner.
• 2030 - Evening entertainment - Cabaret night.

Day 4

• 0830 - Breakfast.
• 0930 - 1200 - Workshop 3.
• 1300 - 1400 - Lunch - Free afternoon - Options include trip to Lloret De Mar, beach time, boat trip and visit to the Salavador Dali museum (Figueras).
• 1830 - Return to hotel.
• 1930 - Dinner.
• 2030 - Flamenco evening.

Day 5

• 0830 - Breakfast
• 0930 - 1200 - Workshop 4
• 1300 - Lunch
• 1430 - 1700 - Workshop 5
• 1930 - Dinner
• 2030 - Quiz/Games evenin.

Day 6

• 0830 - Breakfast
• 0945 - 1200 - Workshop 6
• 1300 - Lunch
• 1400 - Final rehearsals
• 1930 - Final performances
• 2100 - Dinner and Disco Party.

Day 7

• 0830 - Breakfast in hotel - Free time for packing, last minute shopping etc. (coach not available before departure.)
• 1300 - Depending on flight departure time, lunch then transfer to Barcelona Airport.

The workshops are split into two sections:

Section 1 consists of introductory workshops allowing the tutors to get to know the students and explore initial ideas.

Section 2 where tutors develop the chosen performance ideas and take the students through the stages of creating, devising and rehearsing, leading to a final public performance presentation.

All our coach contracts are with recognised international travel companies and we provide full executive standard coaches which are equipped with:
