Course programme

Students will have the opportunity to acquire performance, technical and writing skills, and throughout the programme will engage in theatre-making as writers, technicians, directors and performers. Modules range widely from those that study dramatic literature and history to those that engage with specific performance skills such as playwriting and devising.

Drama enhances vital skills of communication, self-discipline, research and creative team-work increasingly valued by employers in a wide range of graduate employment.

At level one, students take recommended courses together with a choice of courses from a wide variety of other disciplines within the school.

At level two, students move on to follow two core courses in Developing Theatre Practice and take two further optional courses in related disciplines.

At level three, students undertake one core course in Advanced Theatre Practice - Research in Practice and choose options from several other Advanced Theatre Practice courses including The Drama Project, Physical Theatres and Shakespeare Studies.
