Jessica Houston

Art Instructor

Jessica Houston teaches drawing at The Metropolitan Museum in New York, where she has also trained graduate art students at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has lectured at McGill University, Concordia University, and Ontario College of Art and design in Canada; The International Polar Year Conference in Oslo and The Art Institute of Florence. In 2011 she was nominated for a Rema Hort Grant and in 2010 she exhibited in the New Jersey MOCA inaugural exhibition. She has participated in residencies around the word and has artwork in international collections.

Marcia  Teusink

Marcia Teusink

Artist Instructor

Marcia Teusink has over fifteen years experience teaching art in museums and schools. She has taught in California, New York, Switzerland, and Italy, at places such as the Brooklyn Museum, Pratt Institute of Art & Design, and the Zurich Kunsthaus, among others. Marcia holds an MFA in Visual Art from the City University of New York, Queens College, and is currently studying museum education at the Institute of Education, London University.

Course programme

Join artists Jessica Houston and Marcia Teusink for three days of intensive drawing in New York's museums and galleries. Begin with an evening at The Metropolitan Museum and continue the weekend at The Asian Art Museum and The Museum of Natural History.*

Lessons are skillfully sequenced to develop and refine your observational drawing, including figure drawing (portraits, ands, feet) and perspective. This weekend immersive provides abundant individual attention, technical expertise and art historical context.

Course days/times: Friday 5-8 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 1pm, and 2 - 4 pm.

Course fees include instruction and entrance fees. Participants are responsible for their own travel costs.
