2. Course description Can't draw? Want to draw? This is an ideal place to start. On this popular, creative and inspiring course we will continue looking at drawing & illustration techniques. Including excercises to develop skills in tone, colour, texture and composition, we will also look at other artists' and designers' work for ideas and inspiration. We will be using various materials such as pencil, pen, collage and coloured media such as paint (including watercolour) pen, pastel and coloured ink.You will gain more confidence in using drawing materials and be encouraged to take part in group discussions and have access to one to one support . The overall aim is to help you learn some techniques and develop your ideas through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration.

3. Entry requirements For Beginners, Improvers and anyone who needs to chill out doing something completely different from their everyday work. From those with little or no experience of drawing and illustration to those who have who have practiced but need a refresher and inspiration to get motivated again in an affirming and friendly class.We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Equipment required For the first session bring a pad of A3 cartridge paper, soft grade of pencils (2B, 4B or 6B) and eraser (and whatever drawing materials you may already have purchased).Other materials needed during the course will be discussed in advance of the lesson and a materials list given out at the beginning of the course, however materials you will definitely use include pen and ink, brushes, watercolours or coloured inks and coloured chalk pastels or coloured pencils.
