Dreamweaver CS6 Course The Dreamweaver CS6 Course is an ideal course for those who want to learn more about using Adobe Dreamweaver editing software. In preparation for the Adobe Certified Expert Dreamweaver 9A0-332 examination, this course guides you in detail through the editing software used by web designers for the creation of websites. The course has been designed as a self-study course and you can take as long as you need to complete it. Tutor support is available via email should you need assistance. APPLE MAC USERS: We recommend you complete this course on a PC with the Windows Operating System. While the course can be run on an Apple Macs using software such as Boot Camp, Parallels Desktop 7, VMware fusion or CrossOver Mac, we cannot support any issues that may occur with PC-Based software running on a Mac.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 Basics Course Book:
Unit 1: Getting started
- Understand Internet, HTML & XHTML concepts
- Identify components and create a custom workspace
- Switch views, specify page titles and make basic edits using features and tools in the Document window
- Use the Property inspector to set element properties
- Preview a web page in a browser and set the primary and secondary preview browsers
Unit 2: Website and pages
- Use flowchart and wireframe tools to plan your site before building it
- Define a local site and local root folder to store the website while development is in progress
- Create new web pages and set the default document type and page extension
- Use the Files panel to sort files and choose and manage sites
- Use the Files panel to organise site files and folders to assist in mapping the site and to keep links intact
Unit 3: Basic Ediing
- Insert and import text from external files
- Insert special characters
- Use headings, paragraphs and other structeral elements to organise a web page into a logical hierarchy. Insert line breaks
- Create unordered, ordered and definition lists
Unit 4: CSS basics
- Explore CSS basics
- Create external style sheets
- Define and apply element styles to text as well as use class styles
- Explore the cascade effect
Unit 5: Images, multimedia and links
- Add graphics to a web page by inserting images, placeholders and rollovers as well as defining image attributes
- Edit images in Dreamweaver and in an external image editor
- Add multimedia to a web page by inserting Flash SWF and FLV files
- Discuss hyperlink basics
- Connect web pages by creating internal and external links, using named anchors and applying link styles
Unit 6: Working with code
- Understand the basics of HTML, XHTML and HTML5
- Define a website’s keywords and description in the <head? section
- Use the Code Navigator and tag selector to select code element
- Add and modify code in Code view by using optionbs on the Coding toolbar
- Use the Quick Tag Editor to add and edit HTML tags in Design View
- Use the Find and Replace dialogue box to update content and code
Unit 7: Publishing
- Finalise a website to be published by checking a download time, spelling and links as well as cloaking files
- Connect to a remote web server
- Transfer local files to the remote server and use the Check In and Check Out feature

Unit 1: Designing with CSS
- Use CSS styles and DIV tags to layout a web page
- Define sections with DIV tags, control by modifying the BOX model in CSS and view defines space Inspect mode
Unit 2: AP Divs and Responsive layouts
- Use absolutely positioned elements
- Modify AP Div tag properties
- Create fluid grid layouts
Unit 3: Site assets and templates
- Create, insert and update library items and create and apply snippets
- Create a template and define editable regions and attributes, create a page froma a template and apply a tempate to an existing page
Unit 4: Behaviours, navigation and tables
- Apply behaviours to page elements
- Use a Spry widget to create a content navigation system or an interactive page layout
- Create and modify tables
Unit 5: Forms
- Create a form, add variety of input fields and apply accessibility features
- Validate form data by using Spry widgets
Unit 6: Working with XML

Assessment:
To earn the Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 certification you must sit a separate Adobe Certified Expert Examination (Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 9A0-332). The exam is in a multiple choice/multiple answer format. There are 60 questions in total and the exam lasts approximately 65 minutes. The minimum passing score to gain the Dreamweaver CS6 ACE certification is 75%.
Adobe examinations must be sat at a registered Pearson VUE testing centre and cost £115+VAT each. You can locate testing centres and schedule exam appointments on the Pearson VUE website.
Adobe no longer offer the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) Certification for CS6 Courses. The Course materials do also cover the Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) syllabus so the Course can still be used for this purpose. A certificate of completion can also be issued by request on completion of any of the Adobe CS6 Courses.
Adobe Re-certification Policy:
You must be certified on the previous version of the product and pass the current version's exam in order to get recertified. For example, to recertify for Dreamweaver CS6 you must already be certified for Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 and pass your Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 examination.
Study Hours
This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.
The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 60.06 hrs.
