According to the D.S.A. 42.8% of candidates fail thier tests because of the following:

  • Observations At Junctions (You must be able to deal with ALL types of junctions, and judge when it is safe to proceed)
  • Reverse Parking (Very good all round observation required & a good degree of accuracy)
  • Use Of Mirrors (Use your mirrors and act correctly on what you see)
  • Moving Away Safely (Don’t forget to check the ‘Blind Spots’ when you move off)
  • Use of Signals (Make sure you signal correctly & in good time)
  • Incorrect Positioning (Make sure that you are in the correct position on the road at all times)
  • Reversing Around A Corner (Poor control / Observation)
  • Lack of Steering Control (Steering at the correct time / speed)
  • Turn In The Road (Ineffective observation and accuracy)
  • Inappropriate Speed (Holding up other traffic, Hesitation. Drive according to the road and traffic conditions.)
