The proposed qualification has been developed to identify and specify the standard of professionalism required to drive goods vehicles.

Course Units NVQ Level 2 Driving Goods Vehicle

Course Content:

Candidates must complete all mandatory units. Candidates may complete additional units but these are not a requirement of the course.

Mandatory Units:
· Monitoring the loading of the vehicles by others
· Completing pre-driving preparations
· Maintaining the safety and the security of the load, self and property
· Maintaining awareness of driving conditions
· Operating the vehicle systems
· Driving the vehicle on public roads
· Driving the vehicle in restricted spaces

Additional Units:
· Uploading the vehicle
· Coupling and uncoupling the vehicle

Technical Certificate:
Level 2 Award in Carry and Deliver Goods BTEC

Assessment :
All assessment is work based. All assessed work is subject to internal verification procedures, whereby assessed evidence is sampled on an ongoing basis by appointed and qualified individuals in the centre. External verification takes place on a regular basis and assessor and internal verification decisions are sampled.

Additional Employer Requirements:
Two post test driving assessments at 2 months and 4 months after passing the test for drivers who gain their CAT C or C+E licence as part of this framework.
