The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to:

• Be able to operate machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and accepted good practice.
• Understand the causes of instability of truck and load
• Carry out a pre-shift inspection
• Be able to operate safely under varying site conditions
• Be able to position truck for loading from and dumping into excavations
• Tow and reverse with small trailers (where applicable)
• Have an understanding of responsibilities under current relevant legislation.

Method of Training
Highly participative with practical demonstrations highlighted by use of PowerPoint and Videos along with group and individual exercises.

Course Duration
1-5 days depending upon size of machine and experience.

Eligible companies may be able to claim grants toward their Training as this course is CITB approved for grant purposes.

Certification
Intermediate Certificate, Scottish Progression Award, CPCS Trained Operator Card, RTITB or Theory & Practical.
