Participants will learn how to: Set up a Z1 (camera, tripod, microphone). Make use of the Z1's Auto and Manual Settings (exposure, focus, white. balance, zoom, shutter speed, gain, audio input). Shoot footage in the DV/DVCAM format. Suitable for: Anyone who is keen to gain experience in the media, learn how to make their own films or wants to strengthen their existing camera skills.

No specific prior knowledge required, although a basic competence in technical operation of video equipment would be an advantage.

Course programme
This course teaches foundational digital video camera operation skills, helping participants to become familiar with basic video camera operation.
Participants will be introduced to the highly popular SONY Z1 professional camcorder through demonstration and hands-on practical experience, which will include a range of tasks including location shoot (weather permitting), interview and capturing location footage.
Topics covered include: safety handling, tripod, basic set up, focus, exposure, gain, white balance, iris, zoom, menu, auto settings, audio input, microphone operation, video formats.
Tea, Coffee and Light Snacks will be provided.
Lunch is not included but can be provided for an additional £10 per person.

A certificate of attendance will be presented upon completion of the course. Further training and qualifications will be needed for participants to gain the level of competence and professionalism required within the industry.
