Course programme

The Amsterdam Early Music Summer School is a course in the historically informed performance practice of Baroque and Classical music. The course is open to participants (instrumentalists as well as vocalists) with an interest and some background in Early Music at a conservatory or professional level.

Once accepted, the participants will get access to an on-line platform where they can exchange repertoire suggestions and form ensembles to prepare before the actual EMSS week.

The course includes private lessons as well as ensemble lessons with expert teachers from the Early Music Faculty at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In addition workshops, lectures, concerts are offered, and of course lots of chances to play with fellow students from all over the world.

The two most successful ensembles will be invited to give a fringe concert at the Utrecht Early Music Festival on Sunday August 30.

The summer school is open to any repertoire from the Baroque (performed preferably in a = 415 Hz) and Classical period (performed preferably in a = 430 Hz).
