If you want to work with children in an education or care setting this course will help you take the first steps into a career in the profession. The course will help you to develop a range of skills to enable you to work with children from birth to 5 years and the knowledge of children up to 7 years. You will also have the chance to put the knowledge you have gained in college into practice in the work experience placements which are a significant part of this qualification. On successful completion of the course you will be able to progress onto the level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education Early Years Educator. You will need to have a GCSE grade C or above in English and Math for successful completion of your level 3.
