Eating Disorders Course
About the Level 3 Eating Disorders Certificate
Eating disorders are on the rise and, unfortunately they are often misunderstood. There are a number of complex reasons why people develop conditions such as anorexia and bulimia nervosa and other types of eating disorder. If we want to tackle these issues, we must first try to understand how they come about. We must also evaluate the treatment available for those affected.
This distance learning course begins by taking a look back at the history of eating disorders. The material questions: ‘what is an eating disorder?’ and explores what it has to do with control. Students will review case studies and evaluate the treatments and outcomes. Altogether the course should span across approximately 110 hours.
Who should study this course?
This online course has been designed for anyone who wants to broaden their understanding of eating disorders. Whether you work directly with people affected by eating disorders, you have a personal connection or you simply want to know more, this course is a good place to start.
You don’t need any prior knowledge or experience to enrol on this course. You also don’t need any qualifications. All you need is an interest in the topic and the motivation to engage in home study in your free time.
What happens after the course?
On successful completion of this home learning course at Stonebridge College, you will have a broader knowledge of the causes of eating disorders and what can be done to help those affected. You may want to use this knowledge to pursue further study.
If you take your studies further, you could end up working directly with people who have been affected by these conditions. There are a number of jobs available for people who are experienced in this field. However, most people will also require further qualifications. Roles include:

Study Hours
