Eating Disorders

Here we explain the main parts of the syllabus:

• Psychology historical basis: theories on character formation, modern psychology's birth, Freudian theories.
• Social psychology and culture's influence on individuals: primary and secondary socialization, role of family, parents' influence, role of society.
• Factors that development and subsistence of the disorder: precipitating and perpetuating risk factors.
• Anorexia nervosa and treatment.
• Bulimia nervosa and treatment.
• Obesity, binge eating and psychotherapeutic treatment.
• Other less common dietary obsessions: bigorexy, drunkorassy, nervous othorexia, EAT-26 (eating attitude test).
