Economics studies how people and societies make decisions that allow them to get the most out of their limited resources. You will look at the fundamental forces which affect our lives, such as employment, prices, international trade, financial markets, distribution of income and poverty. Economists are in healthy debate over these issues. It’s this controversy which makes Economics lively and interesting and which allows you the opportunity to make your own judgements and form your own opinion.

Students are expected to acquire quantitative skills and competencies relevant to the topic area and become familiar with economic facts, figures and statistics. Students will require strong numerical skills to succeed in A-level Economics.

The subject is delivered over two sessions per week, one AM and one PM. Students will experience a variety of teaching and learning methods such as group work, presentations, teacher led exposition, research projects, case study materials, film, debates, discussion, televisual and print based media.
How will I be assessed?
