2. Course description In 2008, the global economy went boom. But what does that actually mean? What happened with Brexit, and what is Grexit and Nexit? How do these economic events affect the UK and the world, or more importantly, how do they affect you? That's what this A-Level course sets out to explain. You'll be introduced to the economic problem: resources are limited but what we want is unlimited - so how we deal with that? You'll learn how and why households, businesses and the government make the choices they do, and analyse their different impacts. In microeconomics, you'll look at how markets work, including supply, demand and the equilibrium price that allocates scarce resources. You'll explore different market structures and learn why some are efficient and others fail. And in macroeconomics, you'll focus on the nature and trends of both the UK and International Economy, giving you a comprehensive overview of the world order.
