Course programme

The duration of the course is approximately 3-6 months depending on Accredited Previous Learning (APL). Students will be required to have access to 30 hours of teaching practice whilst on the course, if you have done any teaching in the past 3 months we may be able to take this into consideration. You will be observed for 3 hours during the course, we can come to your location for these at no extra cost. Alternatively you can be observed by one of your colleagues as long as they are suitably qualified. There are 4 units within this course as follows;

• Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

• Planning and Enabling learning

• Principles and practice of assessment

• Teaching a specialist subject

Education and Training Certificate in Lifelong Learning Level 4
The certificate will give you the underpinning knowledge,
understanding and skills needed to confirm occupational competence. This
includes the planning and delivering of schemes of learning and session plans,

practices.
