Education is much more than just learning your ABCs – it plays an essential role in society. Our education studies degree offers you a flexible route to a challenging and rewarding career. It allows you to understand how people develop and learn over their lifetime. The degree incorporates a range of subject disciplines including psychology, philosophy, history and sociology. Entrepreneurship One of the unique features of this degree is the opportunity to study social enterprise, which is increasingly important in working with children and young people. This includes a professional work placement that could see you running your own business as a social entrepreneur by the end of your degree. Support During your studies, we offer support and advice outside of regular teaching times, both face-to-face and online. This includes academic support workshops for all year groups, online assignment support sessions and a student mentoring scheme to enable students to build their skills and confidence in the workplace. Multidisciplinary study Throughout your three years with us, you will gain a broad understanding of all cultural, societal, political, historical and economic contexts. All courses within the programme have vital practical skills embedded within them. You will learn how to investigate and research your own projects, as well as increase your knowledge of educational processes, systems and approaches. Location Located at the university's prestigious Greenwich Campus, the Education Studies programme has world-renowned attractions right on its doorstep from the Cutty Sark to Greenwich Park. With the opening of the highly anticipated Dreadnought Building on the horizon, not only will you study in the heart of the Greenwich Campus, but you will also have access to state-of-the-art learning, teaching and social spaces.
