Description
Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

Overview

The aim of this unit is to develop the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to carry
out emergency first aid in the workplace. You will learn the roles and responsibilities of a first aider
and be able to assess, recognise and manage a casualty with a range of injuries, signs and symptoms.
These will include casualties who are unresponsive, breathing or not breathing normally, use of an
AED, choking or suffering from shock, external bleeding and minor injuries.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, learners will:

LO1 Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
LO2 Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
LO3 Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
LO4 Be able to assess an incident
LO5 Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
LO6 Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
LO7 Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding

Anyone in any business or industry at all.

No previous requirements required.

This course is an OFQUAL (government regulated) qualification at level 3.
